More FO's coming your way!

I made some bow holders for the girls this weekend. Please excuse the terrible pictures. I just took quick snap shots so I could post them. They are made from 4"x5" pieces of canvas and painted with water colors. They are wrapped in ribbon but duh me forgot to take a picture from an angle you can see them. I will take more pictures of them and update. Also, here is a quick picture of my socks I started. I have only worked on them one night for about an hour. I need some knitting time.

WIP (Work in Progress) socks for me

I have made quite a few pairs of socks. I even made a pair for myself while I was pregnant for Maddison. (I finished those during labor.) But, I don't like them. The pattern ended up just not really my style. So, thanks to a wonderful Mother's Day gift from my friend Renee I have some new fabulous sock yarn. I picked out a pattern called Monkey from Knitty.com. I can't wait to get started. Hopefully it will be later today.

On another note. Miss EJ got her first real manicure yesterday. What sweet little hands.

Maddison was watching us the whole time. I think she wanted to know when her turns was.

Cupcake purse

Last Night I completed another project. I made a cupcake purse for Ella. Once again the pattern came from Etsy. This time the seller was Amy Gaines. This is the first of two patterns I purchased for her. I got a pattern for a pirate Panda bear to make for B. The pattern was written to be knitted flat and then seamed. I think I will make it again with some modifications....I am going to knit it in the round and make the ruffle bigger. Either way cute pattern and I got to use up some more of that stupid Vanna's Choice yarn I decided I don't like. It's nice when it's done but I just don't like working with it. Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to each of you! I was treated to a wonderful day. DH let me sleep in and took the kids downstairs for breakfast. When I woke up Ella brought me a beautiful card she even wrote her name on it. She also drew a picture of herself laying on the couch. It is the cutest thing. Later DH brought me Dunkin Donut coffee, one of my favorites. We took off for the afternoon to do window shopping for when our rebate check shows up from the Government. Bret also made me breakfast for dinner. Waffles and turkey bacon. Yum, makes me hungry thinking about it now. :) He and the kids got me a fantastic new knitting bag that zips up so the cat will stop stealing my yarn.

Happy Birthday Dad

Tomorrow is my Dad's birthday. Every year it's fun to try to top what we got him the previous year for his birthday. The thing is, he loves gadgets and fun things but realizes most of them have no practicality. Besides, he loves to tell us not to get him anything. (Nice try.) This year my husband, brother sister-in-law and I decided to appeal to his stomach. We sent him gourmet food. I did some online shopping and decided to go with QVC. They have a money back guarantee on their food. Nothing like being able to get a refund for food you already ate. (Not that we did that.) Dad's gift arrived today packaged in dry ice. He and my Mom heated it up and had it for dinner. They were quite pleased with the whole meal. It included lobster bisque, lobster and crab swirls, crab cakes and chocolate truffle cookies. Now, what to do for next year...

My latest creations

I have been working on a ton of little projects lately. Here are my last FO's. (Finished objects) The cow hats are for my friend Nicole's little girls. They are crocheted using Vanna's Choice yarn and the flowers are good old sugar and cream. The Vanna's choice is nice yarn but it throws my gauge way off. I had to go down two hook sizes. I decided I won't use it again. The hat pattern is from Etsy and the store is Tiptopapplesauce. She has some of the cutest patterns I have ever seen. Check her out if you get time.

The little fire fighter cloths are also for Nicole. We are trying out reusable baby wipes. We are not actually crazy but she (yes you) dragged me down into using cloth diapers. I have thought of it a couple times and with some persuasion ended up buying some. I do like it and am glad I made the plunge. More on that later.
